UAE to introduce new unified car purchase form

(MENAFN) UAE's Ministry of Economy's department of consumer protection's director, Hashim Al Nuaimi, said that starting January 2012, a new unified form for vehicle purchase contracts would be effective in the country, reported Gulf News. Al Nuaimi added that the new form would protect consumer rights, whereas car dealers, who would breach the new rule, would be fined according to Federal Law No 24 for the year 2006 for consumer protection. He also said that the new law would ensure after-sales service including availability of spare parts for at least 5 years from the purchase date and warrantee on spare parts for at least 6 months against manufacturing defects. It is worth noting that the contract with the customer includes documents related to the customer purchase process that includes the invoice, delivery list and acknowledgment, warranty booklet and any related documents to set the agreement between the car dealer and the client.
