Kuwait inflation declines 3 percent in October

(MENAFN) The inflation in the consumer price index (CPI) eased slightly to 3 percent annually in October, as inflation in most components decreased, a report by the National Bank of Kuwait showed, KUNA reported.

"Core inflation eased slightly from 3.3 percent y/y in September to 3.1 percent y/y in October, as housing inflation remained unchanged and inflation in other major components decelerated," reads the report.

It confirmed that the food inflation witnessed a marginal slowdown in October and is expected to continue to ease in the coming months in line with lower international food inflation.

It added that a stronger dinar is also expected to be helping keep domestic inflation under control. Inflationary pressures appear modest and headline inflation is seen ending 2014 at an annual average of 3.0 percent.
