    Jordan's economy suffers at USD 7bn due to Syrian crisis

    (MENAFN) The Syrian crisis has cost Jordan more than USD 7bn since 2011; in addition the kingdom's commerce, education and tourism sectors have also suffered.

    Furthermore, 90 percent of the Syrian refugees in Jordan live outside camps, while the population doubled ten times across the past 55 years.

    Additionally, the kingdom's population values to 9.5mn and Syrians constitute 20 percent of that population, amounting to 1.266mn.

    The Jordan Response Plan (JRP) 2016-2018 was improved with the global community and the UN, with USD 8bn needed to cover the needs of Syrians.
