    Foreign investments in Tunisia drop by 23.4 percent

    (MENAFN) Tunisia's foreign investment declined by 23.4 percent at the end of June this year, compared with the same period of last year to reach USD 413.26mn.

    However, during the first half of 2016, the drop reached USD 398.72mn in foreign direct investment (FDI) and USD 14.54mn in portfolio.

    On the other hand, direct investments in energy increased by 3 percent, at USD 228.063mn between 2015 and 2016, while in industry it fell by 6.1 percent.

    The drop was mainly in the sector of services, from USD 65.6mn in June last year to USD 35.63mn at the end of the cited half of this year.
