    Freight volumes of Middle East carriers increased 4.6 percent in October

    (MENAFN) Year-on-year Freight volumes of Middle East carriers increased 4.6 percent in October 2017, where capacity increased 3.4 percent, according to data released by International Air Transportation Association (Iata).

    Measured in freight ton kilometers (FTKs), demand rose 5.9 percent in October 2017 compared to the same period last year, as the global air freight markets showed.

    This was a slowdown from the 9.2 percent annual growth recorded in September 2017; however, it still exceeded the average annual growth rate of 3.2 percent over the past decade.

    Measured in available freight ton kilometers (AFTKs), freight capacity rose by 3.7 percent year-on-year in October.
