Morocco reach a 3.3% increase in trade deficit

(MENAFN) The foreign exchange regulator declared Wednesday that in comparison with last year, a 3.3% increase of trade deficit in Morocco has been seen this year between January and November, arriving at a total of $18.32 billion.

Based on exchange regulator statistics, the shortfall increase resulted due to 6.7% of a hike in imports reaching $42 billion from $39.37 throughout the same time of the past year.

The source noted that the hike occurred as a result of a 28.6% raise in energy bills as well as a 3.4% raise in equipment imports.
