    Saudi Q3 non-oil exports surge 34%

    (MENAFN) Saudi General Statistics Department said that in 2011's third quarter, the country's exports of non-oil goods surged by 34 percent reaching USD11.4 billion, from USD8.51 billion in 2010's same period, reported Arab News. The department added that petrochemical exports soared 59 percent from a year earlier to USD4 billion, to top the country's exports, followed by plastic products, which rose 34 percent from 2010 to USD3.69 billion. It also said that the main importer from Saudi was China which received 13 percent of the country's total exports, with around USD1.49 billion worth of products, followed by the UAE, which received 10 percent of Saudi exports, with a value of USD1.10 billion. It is worth noting that in terms of volume, exports in the third quarter of last year grew by 3 percent from 2010's 11.49 million tons to 11.81 million tons.
