    Oman's Dec oil output up by 7%

    (MENAFN) Oman's oil ministry said that since Oman planned to boost is crude production capacity, last month, the country managed to increase its oil output by 7 percent to around 894,000 barrels per day (bpd), reported Emirates 24/7. The ministry added that in the period, Oman's oil exports reached nearly 753,453 bpd, with China being the main importer of the country's oil, followed by Japan, which imported around 10.8 percent of Oman's oil, and South Korea, importing almost 9.2 percent. It also said that the Sultanate increased its oil production in 2010 by around 6.6 percent to 865,000 bpd, in order to reverse several years of a steady drop from a record high of 900,000 bpd in 2002. It is worth noting that Oman has already finished a giant LNG expansion project in the southern port of Sur, with annual production capacity of 10 million tons.
