Iran determined to complete Syria's Jandar power plant project

(MENAFN) Iranian deputy energy minister, Ali Zabihi, said that in spite of the political conflict in Syria, Iran would carry on executing the power plant project in Syria's city of Jandar, reported Tehran News. Zabihi added that in normal situations, the project would be inaugurated by the end of spring, adding that 70 percent of the project was completed. On the other hand, he said that the abduction of 5 Iranian technicians, who were working on the project, wouldn't deter Iran from completing the power plant, which has been under construction for the past 2 years. It is worth noting that MAPNA Group, a group of Iranian firms involved in the construction and installation of energy output machinery, released a statement stressing that the kidnapped technicians were involved in an electricity project in Syria.
