S Sudan files lawsuit against Sudan over oil

(MENAFN) South Sudan Information Minister, Marial Benjamin, said that her country's government filed a lawsuit against Sudan over oil, and would stop exporting crude through Sudan's territories, reported AP. Benjamin added that the lawsuit was filed in specialized international tribunals against Sudan's government and some companies that acquired the crude. On the other hand, South Sudan's Cabinet Affairs minister, Deng Alor, said the decision to stop pumping crude through Sudan wouldn't affect South Sudan as the country has enough in cash reserves to sustain it for 5 years, adding that the government would start constructing a pipeline across east Africa that would allow it to export its oil through Kenya, It is worth noting that filing the lawsuit was the latest development in a long fight between the two governments over the oil they share, with most of it lying within the borders of the South.
