    Saudi posts 25% rise in non-oil exports in Dec

    (MENAFN) Saudi General Statistics Department said that in December, the value of the country's non-oil exports jumped by 25 percent from 2010's USD3.31 billion to USD4.14 billion, reported Arab News. The department added that in terms of volume, non-oil exports rose 3 percent to 4,180,000 tons from 4,057,000 tons. Furthermore, main exports were plastic products, representing 34 percent of total exports, with a value of USD1.39 billion, followed by petrochemicals at USD1.35 billion and re-exports at USD575 million. It also said that the top importer of the Kingdom's products was China, which accounted for 12 percent of total exports, with a value of USD503 million, followed by the UAE with USD431 million. It is worth noting that in December, non-Arab and non-Islamic Asian countries received 32 percent of Saudi exports followed by GCC countries, Arab countries, European countries and non-Arab Islamic countries.
