    Dubai posts 20% rise in 2011 tourism revenues

    (MENAFN) The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) said that in 2011, Dubai's tourism revenues increased 20 percent from 2010 to USD4.35 billion, reported Gulf News. The DTCM added that 9.30 million tourists stayed at the emirate's hotels and serviced apartments, representing an increase of 10 percent from 2010's 8.49 million. It also said that in the period, guest nights jumped 23 percent to 32.84 million, with hotels contributing 23.26 million guest nights. It is worth noting that hotel apartments recorded a growth of more than 2 million guests, with these properties contributing 9.5 million guest nights compared with 7.5 million in 2010.
