    Saudi reports 21% increase in Jan non-oil exports

    (MENAFN) Saudi Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) said that in January, the Kingdom's non-oil exports jumped by 21 percent from 2011's USD3.16 billion to USD3.83 billion, reported Arab News. The department added that exports of petrochemical products accounted for 34 percent of total exports with a value of USD1.30 billion. Moreover, exports of plastic products came second; representing 33 percent of the country's total exports in the period with a value of USD1.27 billion, followed by re-exports, valued at USD383 million. It is worth noting that in the month, Saudi imports surged by 27 percent, reaching USD11.29 billion from USD8.90 billion in last year's same month.
