    UAE investors negotiating Lille club takeover deal: The Sun

    (MENAFN) UAE investors are currently in talks to buy prestigious French football club Lille, UK's The Sun reported. The British media said that "friends" of Abu Dhabi royal Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan are in talks with Lille chairman Michel Seydoux over a takeover deal. If the deal was successfully closed, Lille would be the second top-tier team in France with Gulf sponsors. Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) bought 70 percent of Paris St Germain in May 2011. The media estimated the deal, in case it was closed, would cost in the between USD48 million to USD63.5 million. Lille, the current champions of the French league, is in the process of moving into a new USD413.15 million, 50,000 capacity stadium in the northern French city.
