Iraq posts 15% increase in March oil exports

(MENAFN) Iraqi Oil Ministry spokesman, Assem Jihad, said that last month, the country's oil exports grew by 15 percent to 2.31 million barrels per day (bpd) on average, reported AP. Jihad added that the figure represents a significant increase from the 2.01 million bpd recorded in the previous month, attributing the rise to the launch of a new export terminal in the Persian Gulf in March. He also said that oil exports were shipped to 28 international oil firms. It is worth noting that in the period, oil sales jumped around 28.5 percent to USD8.472 billion, compared with USD6.595 billion in February.
