Kuwait's inflation up to 4.1% in March

(MENAFN) Kuwait's Central Statistics Office said that last month, annual inflation grew to 4.1 percent from February's 0.2 percent, reported Arab News. The agency added that the surge was driven by high food prices, in addition to domestic strikes, including customs workers, which boosted prices of imported goods. It also said that food costs went up by 2.6 percent in March, compared with 0.1 percent in the previous month, whereas housing and transport prices stayed flat. It is worth noting that in March; nearly 3,000 Kuwaiti customs workers went on a week-long strike demanding higher salary increases, moreover, employees at Kuwait Airways grounded planes for 3 days during a strike.
