    Abu Dhabi hotel revenues increase 3% in May

    (MENAFN) An official report showed that Abu Dhabi's May hotel revenues advanced three percent to USD98 million, state news agency WAM reported. According to the emirate's Tourism and Culture Authority, the number of guests at Abu Dhabi hotels, hotel apartments and resorts rose by 12 percent to 192,374. Figures show that guest-nights occupancy rose seven percent to 542,567 nights compared to a year earlier. The average length of stay at Abu Dhabi hotels also slipped by four percent to 2.82 guestnights. Occupancy rate at the oil-rich emirate reached 63 percent, 8 percent down from a year earlier, as a new bulk of hotel properties come online. Mubarak Al-Muhairi, the authority's director general, unveiled plans to attract more tourists to the emirate this summer.
