Kuwaiti ALAFCO orders 20 Boeing 737 MAX 8s

(MENAFN) Kuwaiti ALAFCO's chairman and CEO, Ahmad A Alzabin, stated that the company signed an initial USD1.9 billion deal to acquire 20 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, reported Arabian Business. Alzabin said that as the 737 MAX consumes less fuel than other models, the aircraft is expected to save costs, in addition to being environmentally-friendly as a result of its latest quiet engine technology. In March 2007, the airplane leasing firm has ordered six 737-800s, with the last aircraft delivered to the company in July last year. It is worth noting that the deal between Boeing and ALAFCO is the first agreement for the 737 MAX from the Middle East, one of the airplane industry's highest growth regions.
