    Ford sees 38% increase in ME sales

    (MENAFN) US second largest automaker Ford Motor Company reported a 38 percent rise in Middle East sales during the first half of 2012 from a year earlier, Arabian Business reported. Total retail sales of Ford and Lincoln line-ups in the GCC increased 12 percent, led by strong sales of Ford Fusion, Taurus, Edge, Expedition and Flex models, Ford said. The carmaker also said in its report that sales in Oman have doubled, while Qatar sales rose by 56 percent during the first half. Sales rose by 10 percent both in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, while sales in Kuwait grew at a steady pace, Ford added. Ford's home market sales in the US saw seven percent growth to 1.14 million vehicles during the first six months of this year.
