    Hyundai's ME sales up 13% in H1

    (MENAFN) Hyundai Motor Company reported a 13 percent jump in its Middle East sales during the first half of the year compared to a year earlier, totaling 161,554 vehicles, Arabian Business reported. Hyundai sales saw an increase in almost all of the GCC and Levant countries, led by Kuwait with a 127 percent growth, the South Korean automaker said. The Accent, the company's midsized sedan, continued to be Hyundai's biggest selling model across these countries, with sales up 76 percent with 35,143 units being sold. According to Hyundai's data, sales in Bahrain rose 99 percent, while the UAE saw sales shoot up by 77 percent, Qatar by 60 percent and Oman by 48 percent. Saudi Arabia remains Hyundai's biggest market in the region, with 16 percent increase to 56,118 cars during the first half. Lebanon and Jordan also witnessed strong sales during the first six months of the year, with sales up 32 percent and 31 percent respectively.
