    Abu Dhabi food prices up 3.3% in Ramadan

    (MENAFN) Official report showed that food prices in Abu Dhabi rose more than three percent during the holy month of Ramadan, official WAM news agency reported. Food prices were 3.3 percent higher in the fourth week of Ramadan compared to the third week of the same holly month, according to Statistics Centre - Abu Dhabi (SCAD) weekly report. Seafood prices by 9.6 percent while vegetable prices increased by seven percent and meat by 6.6 percent, the report said. The inflation pace in the last week of Ramadan was 0.1 slower the third week. The report added. The slowdown was driven by the price of fruits which retreated by 1.3 percent, while the cost of milk, cheese and eggs also fell by 0.8 percent. Compared to the first week of Ramadan, food prices showed an overall increase of 0.7 percent, SCAD said.
