Qatargas halts output at Train 7 for new motor

(MENAFN) Qatargas' Train 7, a 7.8 million ton per year liquefied natural gas production facility has been halted for a new motor installation, Reuters reported. The company, which is the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer, said in a statement that the facility was automatically and safely shutdown and will be restarted as soon as the necessary equipment has been replaced. Train 7 started production in February last year, and with it Qatargas became the world's largest LNG producer. The facility has an output capacity of 7.8 million tons per annum (mtpa) of LNG, making it, alongside similar trains in Ras Laffan, the largest in the world.
