    Visitors at Abu Dhabi hotels grow by 15% in Jan-Sep

    (MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) revealed that in the January-September period, the number of visitors staying at the emirate's 131 hotels and hotel apartments jumped by 15 percent from last year's same period to 1.74 million, reported Arabian Business. The number of hotel guest nights rose 10 percent from a year ago, reaching 5 million, however, occupancy levels fell 7 percent to 63 percent. In September alone, 189,442 guests checked into the capital's hotels, representing an annual increase of 14 percent, while guests' nights reached 566,404, with a gain of 16 percent from last year. In the month, average length-of-stay declined by 4 percent to 2.99 nights, however; overall revenue rose 3 percent to USD85.8 million. It is worth noting that Abu Dhabi's main source market for overseas hotel guests was the UK, with its guests growing by 1 percent to 99,189 guests.
