Air Arabia to fly to Russia's Rostov on November 2

(MENAFN) Sharjah-based low-cost airline Air Arabia is set to fly twice a week to Rostov in Western Russia starting on November 2, expanding its reach in the world's largest country, Arabian Business reported. The city would be the fifth on Air Arabia's Russian network, following existing flights to Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Uffa. It also expands the carrier's global network to 81 destinations. Earlier this year, CEO Adel Ali said that Air Arabia plans to expand further into Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States countries. It already flies to Kiev and Odessa in Ukraine and Almaty in Kazakhstan. Air Arabia, which competes with rivals flydubai and Kuwait's Jazeera Airways, reported a 31 percent increase in it fiscal second quarter to USD17.9 million compared to a year ago, while passenger traffic grew 15 percent to 1.3 million.
