Oman Air expects 2012 revenue to jump 30%

(MENAFN) Oman Air's CEO, Wayne Pearce, stated that during the current year, the carrier's revenue is forecasted to jump 30 percent, reported Arabian Business. Pearce attributed the expected growth to the expansion in operations, mainly to Europe and the GCC. He noted that the state-owned airline plans to increase its destinations to 50, compared with the 42 at the current time, noting that in September, the company launched its latest service, to Tehran. The carrier, which operates 15 Boeing 737s, 7 A300s, 4 Embraer planes and 2 ATRs, plans to acquire more A300s and Boeing 737 planes to meet higher demand. It is worth noting that in 2011, Oman Air posted a revenue of USD809 million.
