    Abu Dhabi hotels report 22% rise in Oct guests numbers

    (MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) stated that the number of guests who stayed at the emirate's hotels and hotel apartments jumped 22 percent in October from a year ago to 223,015, reported Arabian Business. The authority said that guest nights grew 16 percent last month to 675,542 nights, while total hotel revenue rose 9 percent on monthly basis to USD122.5 million. In the first 10 months of the year, the number of guests increased by 16 percent to 1.96 million, and guest nights grew 11 percent to 5.63 million. Revenues in the January-October period gained 4 percent to USD982 million. Nevertheless, occupancy slipped 7 percent to 64 percent, and the average-length-of-stay fell 4 percent to 2.87 nights. Abu Dhabi's largest international hotel guests came from the UK, with arrivals from the European country rising 2 percent to 113,508, followed by India with 112,179 guests, a growth of 32 percent.
