Dubai's DEWA awards USD45.4m water transmission contract

(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's (DEWA) managing director and CEO, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, stated that the company signed a USD45.4-million water network project agreement, reported Arabian Business. Al Tayer said that the project, which would supply and expand Dubai's water transmission network, comprises the extension of the 450mm-diameter network by 416km in a number of areas in the emirate. The aim of the project is to boost the efficiency of water transmission networks and slash water losses in transmission networks through revamping old household networks and extensions, in addition to raising operational capacity and water flow capacity to meet the rapidly growing demand for water. It is worth noting that the project will be executed in a period of 26 months.
