Audi targets annual sales of 20k units in ME by 2020

(MENAFN) Audi Middle East managing director, Trevor Hill, stated that by the end of the decade, the German automaker would double its annual sales in the Middle East to a minimum of 20,000 units, reported Arab News. Hill said that the Ingolstadt-based firm has increased capacity to meet its target, and now it must enhance volume and quality. He noted that the luxury carmaker has 7 major construction projects on the way, such as showrooms and after-sales service facilities in the UAE, Oman and Qatar, adding that Audi needs to raise its workshop capacity in the region by the double. During the current year, the Volkswagen AG affiliate plans to sell at least 10,000 units in the Middle East, and forecasts sales in the premium segment to climb between 12-15 percent, whereas the overall passenger car market could go up between 6-8 percent from 1.1 to 1.2 million units estimated to have been sold last year.
