Abu Dhabi Duty Free 2012 retail revenue posts 24% growth

(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Airports Company's (Adac) COO, Mohammed Al Bulooki, stated that retail revenue of Abu Dhabi Duty Free in 2012 jumped by 24 percent from a year before to a new record high of USD220.33 million, reported Emirates 24/7. Al Bulooki said that both Spend Per Passenger and average transaction value grew during the year. He attributed the growth to the combination of the retail mix, a range of luxury brands and the promotional campaigns of the retail operators. The COO noted that during the current year, several projects are scheduled to be completed, including the new Armani boutique, and the expansion of the Burberry boutique, which will include the addition of ready to wear in Terminal Three. Al Bulooki added that by 2017, the retail business will grow to exceed USD408 million. It is worth noting that Adac is the operator of the emirate's five airports.
