    UAE's Air Arabia reports 13% rise in 2012's passenger numbers

    (MENAFN) Air Arabia Group's CEO, Adel Ali, stated that the carrier's passenger traffic in 2012 jumped by 13 percent to 5,301,484 passengers, reported Emirates 24/7. Ali said that in the year, 9 services were introduced from Air Arabia's main hub in Sharjah, including Kazan, Taif, Salalah, Ufa, Odessa, Erbil, Astana, Basra and Rostov. Furthermore, the carrier carried on its expansion from its hubs in Morocco and Egypt, reaching a network of 82 cities, globally. In the year, several frequencies on exiting routes were increased, including Moscow, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Doha, Kuwait, Najaf, Karachi, Peshawar and Delhi. It is worth noting that Air Arabia received 6 new planes in 2012, as part of an order for 44 planes submitted in 2007, and will be completed by 2016.
