Qatar submits bid to develop Greece's Hellinikon airport

(MENAFN) A Greek government spokesman announced that Qatar has inked a confidentiality agreement and is returning to the Hellinikon International Airport tender, reported Gulf Daily News. Simos Kedikoglou said that the former Athens airport is one of the prized sites of the country's privatization drive. In January, Qatari Diar, an affiliate of Qatar Investment Authority, had pulled out of the tender to develop the airport, before a visit to Doha by Greece's Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. It is worth noting that other firms that submitted offers for the tender include UK's London & Regional Properties, Greek Lamda Development and Elbin Cochin Limited.
