    Emirates-Australia's Qantas tie-up approved

(MENAFN) The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has given the final OK for Australia's Qantas Airways and Emirates Airline tie-up, reported Arabian Business. ACCC said that the five-year alliance will widen the access to many destinations under a single airline code, enhance connectivity and scheduling, and provide access to each airline's frequent flight programs. However, the ACCC stressed that flights between Australia and New Zealand must maintain their capacity before the alliance. Under the terms of the agreement, which was announced in September, Qantas will shift its hub from Singapore to Dubai. It's worth noting that the first transit flight from Sydney through Dubai en route to London, is expected to leave on Sunday.
