UAE- Jafz-Argentina trade grows to USD59.88m between 2009-2012

(MENAFN) Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza) stated that trade between the free zone and Argentina grew to USD59.88 million last year from USD28.30 million in 2009, reported Emirates 24/7. The authority said that the continuing rise in trade results from Argentina's desire to boost its exports, which include agri-food and livestock products, to countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). As the free zone serves as a vital hub for the region, Argentina plans to increase its exports of agri-food products to markets in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. Senior Vice President, Jafza Commercial Sales at the Free Zone, Adil Al Zarooni, said that the authority encourages Argentinean firms to set up their regional base in Jafza to explore opportunities in the region's growing markets. Located between the region's two largest enablers, Jebel Ali Port and Al Maktoum International Airport, Jafza is the only multi-modal logistic platform in the region and maybe in the world.
