    GCC exports to Japan fall to USD27.56b in Jan-Feb

    (MENAFN) The Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro) stated that the country’s imports from states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in the first 2 months of 2013 dropped to USD27.56 billion from USD27.82 billion in last year’s same period, reported Emirates 24/7. Jetro added that the GCC imports from the Asian country also fell to USD3.56 billion, compared with USD3.93 billion. In the 2-month period, Japanese exports to the UAE reached nearly USD1.3 billion, with the Arab country keeping its position as the largest Middle East market for Japan’s exports. Meanwhile, Saudi ranked as Japan’s second regional market, with exports to the world’s largest crude exporter reaching USD1.1 billion. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia ranked as the largest exporter to Japan from the Middle East, with exports value of about USD9.11 billion, followed by the UAE, with USD7.53 billion worth of exports.
