GCC carriers to raise weekly capacity into India by extra 150k seats

(MENAFN) The Center for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) stated that Gulf airlines are expected to boost weekly capacity into India by an extra 150,000 seats, reported Arabian Business. The international global aviation consulting company added that access and flights to tier II cities would require these carriers to seek permission from the Indian government for higher capacity. Furthermore, carriers from the GCC are projected to seek permission for the use of A380 to handle extra capacity, as the aircraft is not permitted to fly into Indian cities at the current time. It is worth noting that Gulf airlines make up 22 percent of international traffic into India.
