Ford ME sales up 14% in Q1

(MENAFN) Ford Middle East's managing director, Larry Prein, stated that the US carmaker's first-quarter sales in the region climbed by 14 percent, reported Arabian Business. Prein added that the increase was driven by higher demand in Iraq, where sales soared by around 200 percent, backed by strong sales of Taurus, Edge, Explorer and Expedition. The company, which has 60 sales and service centers across the region, recorded a growth of 65 percent in its sales in Bahrain, while sales in Oman and Qatar increased by 50 percent and 42 percent, respectively. Furthermore, sales in the UAE grew by 17 percent and those in Saudi Arabia rose by 16 percent. It is worth noting that Ford plans to launch 40 new service branches in the region in 2013.
