Ireland reports 15% rise in GCC visitors

(MENAFN) Tourism Ireland stated that year to date, tourists coming to the country from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states climbed by 15 percent compared with last year's same period, reported Khaleej Times. The agency added that during the mentioned period, the number of visit visa applications has grown by 8 percent. It attributed the rise in visa applications to higher flight connectivity into the European country from the UAE, in addition to initiatives like the Short-Stay Visa Waiver Scheme, which allows GCC nationals owning a valid UK visa automatic entry into Ireland. It is worth noting that at the current time, there are 17 weekly flights operating between the UAE and Ireland.
