Jet Airways, Oman Air denied flying to Philippines

(MENAFN) The Philippines' Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) stated that the limited capacity of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was the reason behind the government denying the applications of India's Jet Airways and Oman Air and to fly to Manila, reported Emirates 24/7. The board explained that the stopping of premits to foreign airlines had nothing to do with the Philippine market but was solely because of infrastructure shortcomings. CAB, which issues oreign Air Carrier's Permits (FACP) to foreign airlines so they may operate in the Philippines, gave permission to 39 overseas airlines at the end of last year. It added that another reason for blocking the two airlines was the fact that most airports in the country could not accommodate night flights.
