Aramco's oil refinery to launch later than scheduled

(MENAFN) Launching Aramco's oil plant in Jizan in Saudi won't be as scheduled and would go beyond the second half of 2016 due to delay in working on associated infrastructure plus no contract to supply the plant with power has been awarded yet, Arabian business reported. The USD6 billion complex is expected to produce 75,000 barrel of gasoline per day and 250,000 barrel per day of ultra-low-sulphur diesel as well as liquefied petroleum gas, sulphur, asphalt, benzene and para-xylene. A source revealed: "The infrastructure is not ready... they will try to catch up with the plan but I think it will be delayed by more than six months," one source familiar with the project's progress said. It's worth mentioning that the oil refinery in Jizan is a part of other projects in progress target reviving the area near Yemen border.
