    RAK Airway seeks to expand

    (MENAFN) Ras Al Khaimah Airways (RAK) announced that it is in talks with aircraft manufacturers Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier for the purchase of ten planes, reported Times of Oman RAK is browsing Boeing's 737-800 models, Bombardier's CSeries and Airbus's A320 and will come to a decision by the year's end or early next year. The carrier's chief executive, Murabit Al Sawa, said "Ras al Khaimah is growing in an aggressive way, so we should be as aggressive as the government. In five years I want the company to be one of the major airlines in the region. In five to 15 years we'll be on a curve to go upwards to have a worldwide position and international identity." RAK plans to expand its flights to cover 40 destinations in the next two years, as the carrier currently flies to nine cities only.
