    Oil production in Libya falls

(MENAFN) Oil production in Libya decreased by more than 50 percent of the amount produced before the 2011 unrest that toppled Muammar Gaddafi, Times of Oman reported. Libya produces 650,000 barrels per day but can only export 300,000 barrels per day through its only operational terminal, Zawiya terminal. Libyan Oil Minister, Abdulbari Al Arusi, said that the Mellitah terminal may resume work today alongside the Zawiya terminal since the El Feel oil field resumed operation. Protests and strikes during the 2011 uprising rendered all of the North African country's export terminals shut except one.
