    Saudi Arabia aims to reduce energy consumption

    (MENAFN) Saudi Arabia's electricity use jumped 30 percent in the past two decades which may lead the country to reduce oil and gas exports, Saudi Gazette reported. The Saudi Energy Efficiency Program (SEEP) will work on reducing energy consumption of several sectors in the Kingdom including the industry and the transportation sectors. The head of the awareness campaign of SEEP, Abulaziz Al-Mulhim, said that some countries reduced their energy consumption by 51 percent in the last three decades. Aramco figures show that, of total energy used in the Kingdom, the service sector accounts for 51 percent. The transportation and the industry sectors account for 21 percent and 15 percent respectively.
