    Egypt Electricity Minister: $1.6bn project to connect power to Saudi Arabia

    (MENAFN) Egypt announced its plan to link its power network to Saudi Arabia through combining a system in the Middle East that has given neighbors an ability to share electricity.

    During a conference Monday in Cairo, Egyptian Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker declared that the connection is to cost about $1.6 billion as Egypt finances around $600 million.

    The minister also announced that either in March or April, deals of the network construction are to be signed while the duration building to consume is predicted to be two years.
