Iran mulls over swap deals in gas export to Georgia

(MENAFN) There is a good possibility Iran might export natural gas to Georgia, going through Armenia via swap transactions.

The declaration was made to the parliament by Armenian Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan.

He explained that creating a gas pipeline across the country is not required for transporting gas, as swap transactions have become a widespread method all around the globe.

The Armenian minister stated "there is no need for additional transit or new pumping facilities. The available resources are sufficient, the main task is how competitive the price of gas and the terms of export are."
