Iran's currency plunges to another record low

(MENAFN) Iran has seen its currency drop to see yet another record low, falling below 100,000 rials to the US dollar.

The decline comes amid fears after the United States set August 7th as the date to re-impose the first series of economic sanctions.

The US has reached a resolution to slap Iran with sanctions after it announced its withdrawal of the Iranian nuclear accord in May.

The Iranian rial has reportedly dropped to hit 111,500 against one US dollar on the unofficial market on Sunday, a decline from around 97,500 rials recorded on Saturday.
