DNO adds 4th well at Iraq's Peshkabir field

(MENAFN) Norwegian DNO ASA was declared to have exceeded its production target at Peshkabir field in the Kurdistan region of Iraq as it added a fourth well.

The move has allowed for an increase in the total production to reach more than the previously announced goal of 30,000 bopd.

The Peshkabir-5 well is now making about 8,000 bopd of output from three Cretaceous and two Jurassic zones using temporary test facilities and the oil trucked to Fish Khabur for export.

DNO's Executive Chairman Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani stated "at around 35,000 bopd, Peshkabir has now leapfrogged into second place after Tawke among the Kurdistan fields operated by the international oil companies."

The chief added "we are setting our sights on higher production and accelerating field development."
