    Israel hits USD13.9bn in Jan-July trade deficit

    (MENAFN) Israel was unveiled to have hit USD13.9 billion in its trade deficit, nearly a double on annual basis during the first seven months of this year.

    The Central Bureau of Statistics found Israel to have registered 27 billion new shekels in the total of its products imports, with raw materials accounting for 41 percent.

    However, the country recorded an 8 percent decline in its imports of durable goods, such as furniture, electrical appliances and vehicles between May and July.

    The country also earned 15.2 billion new shekels in the total of its goods exports in July, with industrial exports, mining and quarrying accounting for 88 percent, diamond for 11 percent, and agricultural exports for 1 percent.
