    Qatar pledges USD15bn investment in Turkey

    (MENAFN) Qatar was announced to be allocating USD15 billion of investment in Turkey, amid efforts for both countries to strengthen their bilateral ties.

    It comes after discussions on bilateral relations and regional issues have been made in a meeting between Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkey' President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday in Ankara.

    Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said that the meeting "reaffirmed the joint desire and will to expand strategic partnership and investment cooperation in various fields."

    Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin also declared "Qatar has pledged $15 billion of direct investments in Turkey. Turkish-Qatari relations are based on solid foundations of true friendship and solidarity."
