    Lebanese Energy Ministry to provide full-day electricity in Zahle at lower prices

    (MENAFN) Lebanon's Energy Ministry was reportedly unveiled to have formed a plan to offer people in Zahle24-hour electricity at lower prices.

    The news has been declared on Saturday by Lebanese caretaker Energy Minister Cesar Abi Khalil, as reported Elnashra, an independent online newspaper.

    The minister was reported announcing "Electricity Du Liban (EDL) will provide people in Zahle with 24-hour power generation at prices lower than that provided by Electricite De Zahle (EDZ)."

    Private electricity operator EDZ is the provider of electricity in the city of Zahle before the contract expires within this year, with the minister affirming that the contract will not be extended.

    Zahle, along with other fifteen municipalities are now provided with full-day electricity to more than 250,000 inhabitants by the EDZ.
