    Morocco's BCP eyes major stakes in 4 BPCE African banks

    (MENAFN) Morocco's Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) is in negotiations with France's BPCE for the acquisition of major stakes in four African banks.

    The key Moroccan lender is aiming to purchase major stakes in BPCE's banks in Tunisia, Congo, Cameroon, and Madagascar.

    BCP is targeting a full ownership of Banque Commerciale Internationale (BCI) in Congo and is eyeing a majority of 71 percent stake in Banque Malgache de L'Ocean Indien (BMOI) in Madagascar.

    The bank is also looking to buy a majority of 68.5 percent in Banque Internationale du Cameroun pour l'Epargne et le Credit (BICEC) in Cameroun along with a majority of 60 percent in Banque Tuniso-Koweitienne (BTK) in Tunisia.
